Well here we are again at the Cook School, almost a year since our last visit. Still as excited to be there as we were first time round. A warm atmosphere on a cold, wet night

On Saturday evening, 14th November, 2015, seventeen Relief Society sisters attended The Cook School Scotland, for a baking class.  The weather that night was horrendous, with rain lashing down and a huge amount of surface water lying on the roads.  But we’re brave!  This Christmas Baking class was not to be missed.

Nancy gave a beautiful introduction to our theme, outlining why meal time conversations strengthen the family, and she shared with us some of her own, personal memories of meal times when she was growing up. We talked about why it is important to think about what we put on the table – not only the food – but little items of decor to make the table an inviting place for those who sit at it.

April Cookery Workshop

Fast and Slow Cooking

The theme of the April Workshop, led by Frances, was Fast and Slow Cooking.

So how do you cook slow?  Well, “simply,” said Frances “when you use a slow cooker”.  Frances brought along two meals, partially prepared in slow cookers and left them to complete their cooking time while she explained the merits of using a slow cooker.
